Makerflat is a community of local artists, makers and craftspeople who have come together to create a space dedicated to the preservation of craft in Portland.
As curators of this “living gallery” as well as one of the makers, we are proud to support such a vast array of local artists and take no fee from the makers, choosing instead to pass along 100% of the sales directly to those who make the furniture, art and goods. In exchange, our artists work in a collaborative effort to keep Makerflat stocked with a fresh supply of local, handmade products to be used by (and available for sale to) guests staying in the space.
Most pieces stay in MakerFlat an average of 6months to a year depending on sales/interest, but as our community grows the turnover and selection tends to change. Don't be surprised if the item onsite during your stay aren’t exactly the same as those you see here.
If you have any interest in purchasing any of these custom handmade pieces please let us know so that we can put you in touch with a maker or artist directly.
If you happen to be a local artist, maker, or craftsperson from Portland and have an interest in joining our community please contact us or send along a small selection of your work for our team to review.
